David founded Epic Capital Management in 2000 and has delivered exceptional absolute and relative performance for more than a decade across numerous investment strategies. He has over 20 years of Canadian capital markets experience. Prior to founding Epic, David spent over 5 years on the sellside, including time as an oil and gas research analyst at Deutsche Bank Securities and First Marathon Securities. He holds an MA in Economics and is a CFA Charterholder.
Scott joined Epic in early 2008 and has more than 12 years of Canadian capital markets experience. Prior to joining Epic, he worked as a research analyst at Macquarie Capital Markets Canada. Scott’s investment background spans a variety of industries including healthcare, technology, energy services, industrials, transportation, and infrastructure services. He holds an HBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business, is a CFA Charterholder, and is a special adviser to The Funding Portal.He is also a Board member at Memex Inc. (OEE.TO)
Sandra has over 10 years of experience in the Canadian hedge fund industry. Sandra joined Epic in June 2004. She is responsible for managing office operations, client communications, financial reporting, and fund administration. Her experience and focus in the industry has been in the Trading, Accounting, and Compliance areas. Sandra holds a degree in civil engineering and is currently working toward becoming a CGA.
Dr. Cheung joined Epic in 2014 and is focused specifically on Epic’s Healthcare franchise. A well-know interventional neuroradiologist, Gordon has spent 50% of his time investing in private healthcare companies over the last 10 years. He is currently also the Clinical Director of MRI and CT at CML HealthCare.
Dr. Taylor joined Epic in 2014. He has a strong background in basic sciences and clinical medicine, holding a BS and MSc in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from the University of Michigan, and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Toronto. His work has been published in multiple international peer-reviewed journals.
Katherine joined Epic in 2015. She brings five years of capital raising and business development experience in the financial services industry to our team. Prior to joining Epic, Katherine was the Manager of Investor Relations at Sprott Inc., a Canadian investment firm with over $7 billion in assets under management. Katherine has an Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the Ryerson Ted Rogers School of Management and she is a CFA level II candidate.
